Privacy statement

We are aware that you put your trust in us. We see it as our responsibility to protect your privacy. In this privacy statement we let you know, among other things, what information we collect and why we collect it. This privacy statement applies to SanoRice’s services and/or products. By using our services, you indicate your acceptance of this privacy statement.

Personal data

Personal data are all data relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly.

We are the world’s largest producer of puffed rice, corn and multigrain cakes. In order to provide our services and products, we process personal data.
We only process personal data that is necessary. For example, contact details such as name, e-mail address and telephone number. We process these personal data on the basis of an agreement if there is an agreement.

If there is not yet an agreement, we can process contact details on the basis of the legitimate interest. This is for example the case when you use our contact form on the website. In addition, your name will be processed on the basis of the legitimate interest when you use our access control system.

For exceptional cases such as the processing of a photo with recognizable persons, we ask for permission.

We may also process personal data on the basis of a legal obligation. If you apply for a job at SanoRice, we handle the application data (including CV) as follows:

  • In the event that you have applied but have not been accepted: we will delete your personal data.
  • In case you have applied and we see opportunities in the near future: we ask annually for written permission to keep your CV.
  • In the event that you have applied and become our new colleague: we will store the data in your personnel file.

The data that is collected is not accessible to everyone. Only employees and persons who perform work on behalf of SanoRice have access to the data if this is necessary for the performance of their duties. The SanoRice website is being maintained by De Indruk. For some of our job openings we work with CATS. With both of them, we have an ongoing contract where your privacy rights will be secured.

Communication

When you send an e-mail or other messages to us, we may retain those messages. This allows us to process your questions and answer your requests. The data is carefully stored.


Data processing purposes

The personal data we process about you may be used for the following purposes:

  • In order to execute an agreement;
  • To be able to contact you;
  • To prevent unauthorized access through our access control system;
  • The delivery and invoicing of products or services ordered by you.

We do not collect or use information for purposes other than those described in this privacy statement, unless we have obtained your prior consent.


Duration of processing

Your personal data will be stored and processed by us for a period necessary for the purpose of processing and/or legal obligations.

Access control system:

  • Activity log records are kept for 30 days;
  • Inactive visitors are kept for 180 days.


Your rights

The privacy legislation gives you a number of rights. We will be happy to inform you about them. You can pursue  your rights by contacting us at info@sanorice.com.

Right of access and inspection
You have the right to find out from us whether or not your personal data is being processed. In addition, you have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data.

Right of improvement, removal and restriction
You always have the right to ask us to correct, supplement or remove your personal data. You may also ask us to limit the processing of your personal data. However, it is important to realise that in the event of a request to remove your personal data, certain services and/or products can no longer be provided.

Right of objection
The privacy legislation gives you the right to object to the processing of your personal data for serious and legitimate reasons. In addition, you always have the right to object to the use of personal data for direct marketing purposes; you do not have to give reasons for this.

Right of data transfer
You have the right to obtain your personal data in common and machine-readable form and/or to transfer them to other responsible parties.

Right of withdrawal of your consent
Insofar as the processing is based on your prior consent, you have the right to revoke that consent.

Right to complain
If you have a complaint about a privacy violation, we would like to hear from you. We will then try to reach a solution with you as quickly and as well as possible. If you are dissatisfied, please contact us by telephone or in writing. You also have the right to submit a complaint to the Authority for Personal Data, based in Den Haag.


Sharing data with other countries and/or third parties

We are an international company based in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Poland. If necessary, personal data can be exchanged between the various branches. The GDPR (AVG) is in force in all countries where we are located. Personal data is therefore processed in accordance with the GDPR.

We will not share your personal data with third parties if this is not necessary. However, should it be necessary or desirable for personal data to be shared with third parties, we will ask you for your consent before forwarding your data to other organisations. When transmitting your data to third parties, we will make every effort to ensure an equivalent level of protection.


Security measures

We have security measures in place to protect your personal data in such a way that these measures are reasonable in relation to the risk of loss or falsification of personal data. Should a situation nevertheless arise in which your data are processed in an unauthorized manner, or by unauthorized persons, we would like to be informed as soon as possible, so that we can take measures and limit damage.

You must always comply with the security regulations for the protection of your own equipment and internet connection, among other things by preventing any unauthorised access to your login. You are and will remain responsible for the use of your computer, IP address and identification data, as well as the confidentiality thereof.

This privacy statement is tailored to SanoRice’s processing operations. Any adjustments and/or changes to our services and/or products may result in changes to this privacy statement. It is therefore advisable to regularly consult this privacy statement and if you have any questions about this you can always contact us.
